Sohe Jesmond

I recently visited a restaurant in Jesmond that's been on my bucket list for a while.
Sohe is an asian fusion cuisine inspired by Thai, Malaysian and Chinese. It's at the top of the well known Osbourne Road which was just a short taxi journey from my house.
As we visited fairly early tea time at around 6:30 on a Wednesday it was very empty but the servers were still very polite and welcoming. The interior in Sohe was almost boutique looking which made it feel expensive to start.
The food itself wasn't the most reasonably priced however, it was definitely worth the money because it was delicious. I opted for the Salt and Pepper Squid to start which came with a Plum sauce, this tasted amazing, the squid wasn't rubbery or overdone and the sauce was decadent and rich. For main I then got the Pad Thai (rice noodle stirfry) - this was quite a simple dish to pick but I'd never tried it before. The waitress did warn me that it was spicy and she was certainly right! I'm not one for spicy food - but this was more tasty spice than burn your mouth off 'hot'.

I would love to go to Sohe again and definitely recommend it to anyone in the area, the menu is limited so if you're not an adventurous eater then maybe pass on this one.
